It's a small book (5.25" x 8.25") with rounded corners for easy transport. The park maps are relatively small, but all the highlights are still highlighted on them. There are nearly 200 trail maps in the book, and they're just okay. Publicly available shaded relief maps are less than desirable. But they're good enough to provide a good preview of all the trails you'll want to explore in any park. The best thing we do on the trail maps is include the number of parking spaces available at each trailhead, so you can estimate how much company you'll have on the trails. We also let you know about how competitive trailhead parking is.
